A few reminders:
No vaccine yet exists to prevent Zika and one will probably not be available for another year or two. One must practice avoidance and prevention. This means avoid being bitten and practice safe sex, since the virus can also be spread through sexual contact.
Mosquitoes that spread Zika virus bite mostly during the daytime.
Zika can be passed through sex from a person who has Zika to his or her sex partners. Condoms (and other barriers to protect against infection) can reduce the chance of getting Zika from sex.
Wear long sleeve shirts or blouses and use appropriate mosquito repellents.
