The ads are starting to disappear and the lawsuit count has risen to over 3500 from men who are alleging they suffered heart attacks and other issues when taking Testosterone.
We should be reminded the FDA has only approved Testosterone for men who have a reduced level because of certain other medical conditions such as mumps, HIV/AIDS, tuberculosis, pituitary gland tumor or injured testicles. Further, the FDA warns it may cause an increase in heart attacks and strokes.
Dr. Bradley Anawalt, an endocrinologist at the University of Washington says, “there’s little evidence to suggest that you will benefit from testosterone replacement”. He further indicates a much better remedy for low “T” is lifestyle change to include weight loss, cutting back on alcohol and exercise….seems like we’ve heard this message before….Diet and Exercise!
