1.6 million adult American’s suffer from this miserable disease technically referred to as atopic dermatitis. It manifests itself with intolerable and constant itching accompanied by red and weeping rashes that can be constant and cover your entire body.
There hasn’t been a cure of even a proven course of symptoms treatment. Some have considered suicide as it was dominating their lives. One sufferer likened it to “having poison ivy and fire ants on myself at all times”
We now have a discovery that gives relief after a few weeks of treatment for a significant number of those in two large studies. Those receiving the drug said, “the change was miraculous. The rash and itching went away.” The drug will be called Dupizet and the FDA has given it drug breakthrough status, which allows for expedited development and review. The drug will require an injection every two weeks and the price hasn’t yet been determined.
It is estimated the FDA will take action as early as March of 2017.
