This diagnosis generally applies to a very sore elbow that can be caused by tennis, but also repetitive twists of the arm and carrying something heavy such as a loaded briefcase. And yes, it hurts, and yes, you can get a shot of cortisone for relief, but a new study offers a new insight.
The study revealed a cortisone shot will provide relief, but will not cure the problem. A few weeks later, you may be faced with the same issue. The best “cure” …..relax and don’t stress your elbow any further. Unload that briefcase, pay attention to how you use that arm and elbow and take a break from tennis. Rest and relaxation by removing the cause for a few weeks is the best and longest lasting “fix”.
